New Years 2007 - Florida Style

For our 8 year anniversary/New Years, Lee and I were invited down to Jacksonville, Florida to stay with our good friend, Jon Nodine. My best friend from birth, Sarah (who is also Jon's sister), along with Jon's girlfriend, April ("Lips"), were also in on the fun.
Let me tell you...those Nodines know how to entertain. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Jon, Sarah, and April showed us an unbelievable time! And the weather was perfect!
Day One: Brunch, Beach, Outdoor dinner on the water, Fun night out!
Day Two: EPCOT, Around the World, Amazing Fireworks display to music at midnight!
Day Three: Lunch at Planet Hollywood, Relaxed back at Jon's, Hot Tub, Pizza on the Beach
Day Four: Breakfast at a cute little cafe, Flew back home
Enjoy the Pictures!

High School Friends Christmas

Every year at Christmas time, my high school girlfriends try to get together for an evening of laughter and catching up. We didn't have the best turnout this year...but it was still really fun! The above picture is Tyson, Sarah, Myah, and me. Schlaura came as well, but had to leave early. Tyson brought her newborn daughter, Marin, which was fun!
It was great to see you girls!!

Nagel "Immediate" Christmas

The Thursday after Christmas the Nagel Clan (Immediate Family) got together to celebrate their Christmas. Ben and Brandi graciously offered to host and we had a great time. It was such a beautiful day, so we spent the first part outdoors. The kids enjoyed the swingset and the boys enjoyed Lee's remote controlled car :) Ben and Brandi's bulldog, Moose (Dudley's brother), even joined in on the fun! We enjoyed opening presents and having everyone together (minus Amy). It is so cool to see all of the Nagel siblings under one roof. It is a rare occasion anymore!

Not the best picture...but you can still see all of the great-grandchildren! I am trying to imagine what this picture will look like in 10 years. Holy Moly!

The "Hat" Tradition

One of our fairly new traditions (started by Uncle David and Amy) is the hat tradition. On Christmas day everyone has to wear a Christmas hat...at least for a little bit. It makes cute pictures and is really fun. Every year David and Amy buy new hats the day after Thanksgiving...wear them shopping...and then add them to the Christmas hat collection. Here is a sampling of our many hats.

Christmas 2006

Wow! Has it ever been a whirlwind these past couple of weeks. I finally have a chance to sit down and journal our Christmas events.
For Lee, Krue, Kiefer, and I our Christmas goes something like this:
Christmas Eve - Go to Lee's parents lake house for appetizers, go to church, eat HUGE dinner back at the lake house, open presents, kids put on their Christmas PJ's and go to bed, we stay and socialize with all forty-some members of Lee's extended family.
Christmas Eve Night - Drive back home, go to bed.
Christmas Morning- Wake up, Krue and Kiefer see what Santa brought them, look at stockings, fire in fireplace, Christmas music, coffee and cinnamon rolls...very special time for just us!
Christmas Day - Drive to my parent's house, arrive just in time to make our VERY TRADITIONAL Christmas brunch (Cherry Turnover Team Rocks!), begin our marathon present opening...it ended around 5 or 5:30 pm this year...seriously! So much fun.

I love dill pickles and get several jars of them every year from my Uncle David.
Krue got a really cool piano from Baba and Papa Joe!

Lee did a little "movin" with some help from cousin Maralee and Dance Dance Revolution!
It was a wonderful Christmas for all of us!
