911 Call

Last night I went to the grocery store while Lee stayed at home to watch the boys. They were down the basement playing when Lee heard pounding on the door upstairs. He ran up quickly to see who it was. Standing at the door was our friend and Auburn police officer, Phil Snover. Lee thought maybe he came over to visit...but no. He was at our house because someone had called 911! Lee was puzzled. They went downstairs and sure enough, little Kiefer was chewing on one of our cordless phones. He must have dialed 911 in the process of chewing! Phil said the operator could hear Lee playing with the kids in the background and knew it was probably a little kid that called.

Go figure...I leave the boys alone for an hour and look what happens. The whole house falls apart without me :)

Thanks, Phil, for checking up on us! It's nice to have friends on the force.

First Report Card

It is such an exciting day when one's first born brings home their first report card! (Well, in this case not really a report card. More like an "update" on how he is doing in preschool:) But it is still so exciting and fun for us because it is a view of Krue's social, mental, and physical skills through another set of eyes.)
By golly, he is doing great. Yeah, Krue!

Three Birthdays in One!

On Sunday, Mamaw had a birthday party at her house for three of our family members! My sister, Amy, who turned 22 on February 2nd, my Mom whos birthday was on February 15th, and myself who turns 30 on March 2nd. It was a wonderful birthday party with lots of yummy food. Mamaw made a meal that incorporated each of our favorite foods. She also had a birthday cake for each of us...Amy-Chocolate, Mom-Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse, and Me- Carrot Cake. Yum! We had a nice day together as a family which was a great gift in itself. I seemed to get only pictures of Kiefer at this party?? Oh well, they turned out cute.

Taekwondo - Hi-Yah!

Krue started a Taekwondo class a couple of weeks ago. We put him in a couple of trial classes because he hasn't turned 3 yet, and the class is for 3-5 year olds. We decided to go ahead and keep him in it ... he really looks forward to it, the instructors are great, and it has already taught him good things! Plus, his friend Ian Heath is in the class with him. Fun! I'll have to get a few pictures of Ian and Krue together because they look so cute in their little outfits.

Playing with Kiefer

When Krue is at school, I enjoy some "one-on-one" time with Kiefer. He plays so well on his own and is very independent....but he loves it when his mommy gets down on the floor and plays with him. Kiefer is so much fun at this stage!

Puppy Love

For Valentine's day my Mom and Dad gave Krue and Kiefer this really cute puppy dog (that looks like their dog, Cotton!) Both boys have had fun cuddling with "Cotton", and I was able to catch some cute shots of them in the act.

Valentine's Day 2007

What a fun Valentine's Day it was!
We all enjoyed showing and telling how much we loved one another. Here are the order of events:
Morning - Krue, Kiefer and I made homemade valentine's for Daddy and babysitter, Erin (forgot to take a picture).
Noon - Lunch with Daddy, delivered strawberry sundaes to the girls at Lee's office and special valentine for Lee with a flavored coffee.
Afternoon - Was SOOOOO excited to have a dozen red, long-stemmed roses delivered to me. I LOVE red roses and the fact that Lee sent them meant the world to me. You should have seen me dancing all over the place when I received them :)
Check out this sweet message to top it off...wow!
Afternoon (continued) - A big package was delivered on our doorstep by UPS. I opened it up and found 3 adorable valentine presents inside. They were from my Mom and Dad to Lee, Krue, Kiefer, and I! They got us a bunch of cute stuff... what a fun surprise!
Evening - Our babysitter, Erin, came over to watch the boys while Lee and I had a fabulous dinner at Bridgewater Country Club.
Night - Lee and I enjoyed the rest of the night at home watching LOST (not very romantic, but we both were excited to see it).

So that's our Valentine's day. Such a nice day to share with your loved ones.

A 30th Birthday Celebration

There is nothing better than a fun night out with great friends. Saturday Lee and I did just that. We met some of our oldest and dearest friends at Casa's to help celebrate Brandon "Bob" Bushee and Ryan "Holmes" Holmes' 30th birthdays. We had a great meal and had a chance to catch up with all of our buds. Since we live about 40 minutes north of everyone...we don't get to hang out with this group as much as we would like to. After dinner we headed down to Strazlos for a surprise birthday celebration for Bob and Holmes. We were greeted by all of their friends and family and I think they were pretty surprised. It was a fun night indeed!
The birthday boys... Bob and Holmes
(These two guys were in all of my high school classes with me.
It always seemed to be us three. Two of the funniest people I know.)

Super Bowl 2007

For the Super Bowl this year we decided to stay at home and watch the game as a family. It was so nice! We picked up a pizza from Papa Murphy's, relaxed and watched the game. Lee was rooting for the Colts and I was rooting for the Bears. Since it was a split decision who we wanted to win...I put Kiefer in a Colts outfit and Krue in Bears colors (it says "baseball" on it, wrong sport but correct colors so it works!) It made if fun because every time the Bears would come on the screen or score Krue would cheer. If the Colts popped up on the screen Krue would say, "Kiefer, that's your team. Say 'Go Colts'!" It was a fun evening.

Kiefer's First Birthday Party

Well, Kiefer's first birthday was a success. He truly loved every moment of his party! I think my mom summed up everything best in an email she sent me the next day...

"Hi Erin and Lee, Just a note to tell you what a nice afternoon we had at Kiefer's fun 1st birthday party! We got such a kick out of how very much Kiefer obviously enjoyed the whole day! He definitely enjoyed opening his presents with Daddy Lee, and he played with all of them, too! He enjoyed riding on his little jeep, and he "got" that it was supposed to "go." He won't take long to figure out that button that makes it go. He was in sheer bliss, and so cute, eating his birthday cake. He had cake everywhere on him, in every crack and crevice, and all over his clothes and high chair. But, boy, did he enjoy that cake! I watched him crawl out into the foyer, and check out every balloon, decoration, and Mickey Mouse. He just took it all in, and enjoyed it all, every bit of it, don't you think? How cute he looked in all his hats, and he tolerated them pretty well. He wore them all for a bit, and then when he had posed and smiled for some pictures, he finally removed them himself. (He definitely gets the posing for picture thing, too, which is funny!) Dad and I were talking about how much fun he is to watch, this morning! What a cutie!"

He WAS so much fun to watch. He played with every single present he opened before moving on to the next one. He had 3 plates full of birthday food (which Mamaw enjoyed feeding to him), and an entire cupcake! He wasn't too sure what to think about the cupcake at first, but dug into into it as soon as he had a taste.

In all the excitement, I forgot to take pictures of the cupcakes and decorations. My mom took some so I'll have to get copies. I went a little crazy with the "Mickey Mouse" themed party and put Kiefer in a Mickey Mouse shirt with matching hat and labeled all of the food....Ex: Pluto's Perfect Punch, Minnie's Marvelous Meatloaf Mini's, Daisy's Divine Taco Dip, etc.. Hee Hee.

Enjoy the pictures!

Cute Krue Pics

Here are two pictures that I thought I would share. I think this first one is cute of Krue looking at Dudley lovingly. The second picture is our attempt to take Krue outside in the snow. It took about 20 minutes getting his "snow gear" on and he wanted to go back inside after about 8 minutes. Go figure! I guess it didn't help that I threw a snowball at him and it accidently smashed in his face. Oops.
