This weekend we went to "SPLASH UNIVERSE" in Shipshawana, Indiana. It was really cool! This was the first family trip we have taken in which the boys truly enjoyed themselves. They are at fun ages!
The water park was in a red barn. The hotel (attached to the water park) was designed to look Amish... to fit in with the community that surrounds it. The hotel had freshly popped popcorn every night for the kids, had an ice cream parlor, an arcade, and a fantastic restaurant that served an Amish country breakfast every morning.

The boys running down the hall. So excited to see the water park when we first arrived.

I made them stop and take a picture on the rooster before we entered the water park. As you can see, Kiefer was not to thrilled with this idea :)

Here are some pictures of the water park.

The dreaded bucket. Every 10 minutes the bucket would dump on one section of the park and drench everyone. I caught it in action (the bucket is located in the top of each picture)...

SLOWLY..... TIPPING.....
SPLASH!!!!
Krue nervously watching the bucket dump. He only went under it one or two times. He wasn't a big fan (Well, do you blame him? It is a TON of water!)

Kiefer loved every minute.... he wanted to keep going back for more!

The favorite ride, by far, was the curly tube slide in the back of the water park. There were two of these slides, side-by-side, and they went inside and outside of the park. (If you look at the fourth picture that I posted you will see a gray slide at the top. That is the slide they loved!)
Dare-devil, Kiefer, and a more cautious, Krue, having fun!

Krue gives Kiefer some lovin'.
We took a break and headed into town for some dinner.

We took a tour of Shipshawana by horse and buggy. How cool is that?

We ate dinner at a restaurant called "The Blue Gate" and it was unbelievable! We had a full (all you could eat) family-style Amish meal ~ Salad, fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, chicken and noodles, green beans, stuffing, and homemade pie. Yum! We were stuffed and happy to say the least.

When we got back to the hotel, the boys wanted to go the arcade. They headed straight for the basketball game. We had to pull them away.

Racing Motorcycles.
Krue played a pirate game in which he won 200 tickets. They just kept coming and coming... he was cracking up! Kiefer kept making necklaces out of them :)

Playing Air Hockey.
Playing Skee-Ball (Mommy's Favorite)

Going to bed after a long, but very fun, day.
