9 Months Pregnant!

My dad wanted me to explain the months of pregnancy because he thinks I am confusing people. Normal pregnancy is calculated in lunar months. The lunar months are a little deceiving. Because each lunar month has four weeks of seven days each (twenty-eight days in total), the baby actually requires 266 days, or 9 1/2 months, to complete development.

So I am now 38 weeks pregnant and there are 40 weeks of pregnancy in all. That makes me 9 months pregnant. Is that a good explanation, Dad?
This week I have started to get really uncomfortable. The heat this week hasn't been helping. I can tell that the baby is getting lower and bigger! At my appointment last Thursday the baby's heart rate was 164 bpm! It has been this high at my last 4 appointments. I keep telling people that we are either going to prove the "girl" theory wrong or right. The boy's heart rates were always below 140.
We are getting very excited to meet this baby! I can't wait to hold him/her and to share the name with everyone. I've got all the baby stuff ready and the house organized. Now we just need the baby :)

Belly Pictures by Kelli Heath

I asked my good friend Kelli Heath to take some belly shots of me to document my third pregnancy. She came over last week to take them with Lee, Krue, Kiefer, and I... and they turned out great! Thanks so much, Kelli.
I thought I would share some of my favorites (I liked some in BW & some in color) ... tell me what you think.

Flowers!

Last week Lee took the boys to Walmart after their taekwondo class. While they were there they spotted some bouquets of flowers. Lee said the boys insisted on buying some for me "because Mommy will think they are pretty." How sweet is that?
Krue chose these flowers "because they have lots of colors... and Mommy likes lots of pretty colors".

Kiefer chose this classic rose bouquet... "because they are pretty, just like Mommy."

I just love my sweet and thoughtful boys. My day was made for sure!

Building A Bear for Baby #3

With Krue and Kiefer I made a recording of their heartbeats while I was pregnant with them. I then had the recorder stuffed in a teddy bear so we could listen to it always and give the bear to the boys when they got older. Last week I did the same for Baby #3... but let the boys design and build the bear. It was so much fun!

Kiefer chose the bear. Both boys put a heart inside of the bear, gave it a kiss and made a wish.

Krue helped put the stuffing in the bear.

Both boys gave the bear a bath.

Krue chose the outfit for the bear and both boys helped me fill out the birth certificate. Now the bear is waiting in the nursery for Baby #3. How exciting!

Erin's Graduation Party

A couple of weeks ago we went to Erin's high school graduation party. This isn't the best picture of Krue and Kiefer... but it is pretty of Erin. Can't believe she is almost off to college. One more summer with her :(

Kiefer's First Dentist Appointment

Last month Kiefer had his first dentist appointment with Doc Nodine. He was so excited to go! He first watched his daddy get his teeth cleaned, then he watched Krue. Kiefer was ready to hop up in the chair as soon as Krue was done. He sat very still and loved wearing the cool sunglasses and picking out the flavor of polish. His teeth looked great! Good job brushing, Kiefer.

Here is Krue getting his teeth cleaned. He had a good report, too! Teeth look good, no cavities, he has 3 of his 4 six-year molars.... and he has 3 loose teeth in front!

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

We had a fun and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend at the lake this year. Lee, the boys and I went up on Friday night, sat by the lake for awhile and then went to bed. On Saturday my mom, Mamaw, and Amy picked me up and we went to the outlet mall in Angola. It was so fun!

Amy bought this shirt... too funny.
That night we headed to Hog Hill in Hamilton for a grand fireworks display. They had 10 of the best firework companies from around the country ready to display their latest and greatest. Why they chose Hamilton, IN to do this, I don't know. It was AMAZING! The best show I have ever seen... and it lasted 1.5 hours.
Papa Sam, Krue, Kiefer, and Lee walking back to our "spot" after jumping on the moonwalk & enjoying some of the fun activities they had for the kids.

Krue and Kiefer patiently waiting for the show to begin.

Parker enjoying a fun treat.

The Nagel Clan waiting for the show.

The Elkins Clan (right beside us) waiting for the show. Mom was taking the picture... and Dad was there too.

Watching the show.

The boys thought the fireworks were really cool!

At different points the display was a bit overwhelming!
Some shots my mom captured...

On Sunday, Ali and Dustin came up to the lake after driving 24 hours from Texas!

They were tired, but happy to be there.

Amy bought some fun hair extensions and played with our hair.

Kiefer got the treatment, too :)

A birthday meal for Ali.

Ali's birthday cake.

Opening presents.
On Monday we just relaxed... they boys played badminton in our backyard.

The boys having a deep conversation on the deck...

Too cute!
