Nothing like kickin' off the spring with a little Bummies!

Saturday afternoon Lee traveled down to Indy with my dad to meet my brother and his girlfriend, Natalia. The went to the state high school basketball finals (Go Plymouth) and then a Pacers game on Sunday. The boys and I spent the night at my parents house. I had so much fun watching home videos with my mom and sister, Ali, Saturday night. Sunday we all went to Bummies for some lunch...yum! It's just not spring unless you have Bummies at least once.

Kiefer waiting for his food :)

First Bike Ride of the Year

Last Saturday, the weather was nice enough to take a family bike ride. The first one of the year...and a first ride for Kiefer! Both boys loved it. Especially when they could see Mommy riding beside them. They got the biggest kick out of that. Kiefer was asleep by the time we arrived back home. Krue was drifting but managed to stay awake the entire time. Looking forward to more bike rides this spring and summer!

What An Appetite!

Call it what you want...having a growth spurt, making up for being so small in the beginning, taking after his daddy...all I know is that this child has a raging appetite! He is eating twice as much a Krue...no joke! He's not very patient about it either. When Kiefer wants food, he wants it now. He will act like it is the end of the world until there is food in front of him. Once the food is there he scoops up an entire handful, puts it to his mouth, and then eats from his hand one bite at at time. When he first started using this system we were a little worried that he might choke...but we have figured out it is his way keeping food constantly there without having to take the time to reach for another piece. Very efficient, I must say!

I hope this raging appetite settles just a little bit. We can't keep up!

Kiefer's First Steps

Yesterday (March 20th) I was showing my dad how Kiefer could stand on his own for about 5 seconds. While he was attempting to do this, he took a step! We couldn't believe it so we had him do it again...two steps this time. We were so impressed. Go, Kiefer!

Sportin' a Mohawk

I don't know why it is...but I think every mom has to experiment and see what their child would look like with a mohawk. Kiefer looks pretty cute, if I do say so myself. We were at my mom's house and I styled his hair after a bath. I love the pictures below. The first one cracks me up because it looks like my mom is thinking to herself, "Oh my!" as she is looking at his hair. I think the second one is really pretty of her. All nice and tan from Florida.

Getting Geared Up For Lake Season

We are sure ready for the weather to get warm so we can GO TO THE LAKE! Papa Sam and Grandma Beth gave Krue this really cool spiderman fishing poll with his very own tackle box for his 3rd birthday. The other day Lee took Krue outside to teach him how to cast. I think he will be ready to fish with "The Master" come summer, Papa Sam!

Our New Toy

We finally bought a juicer the other week, and boy is that thing cool! Krue thinks it is so much fun to put in the veggies and fruits and then taste test the juice. It is a great way to get him to drink vitamin/antioxidant packed juice...and believe it or not, he asks for carrot-asparagus juice a lot. (Yuk! Not my fave...but Lee and Krue like it! Personally, I am a big fan of carrot-celery-apple.)

We Sure Aren't Camera Shy...

Spring's Just Around the Corner!

We had such a great day yesterday! The weather was great (well 54 degrees isn't all that great but it is a heat wave compared to what we have been dealing with!) Lee and I took the boys outside all morning to play. I was able to clean out most of the garage while Lee enjoyed some fun "ball time" with Krue and Kiefer. We even got in a family walk with the wagon. I hope this is the start of nice weather for a long time. It just puts you in a great mood.

A Playdate with Cousin Ella

Yesterday we had the privilege of watching our niece (Krue & Kiefer's cousin) Ella. She was such a perfect guest and so much fun for all of us! I'm telling you, I have never seen a child with such an imagination as Ella. She cracked us up with her stories and make believe. Can't wait until you visit again, Ella!

Krue's Birthday Party

Krue finally got his chocolate cupcakes at his birthday party. He was so excited! We had a nice Sunday party with our family....a basketball themed party! Krue received lots of fun gifts and enjoyed singing songs for everyone. Here are some pictures of the party...

There is always a good "Dudley Pose" at every party. This one cracked us up. He is actually putting all of his weight on a balloon. We thought it was going to pop right underneath him!

My sister, Amy, gave Krue this conductor's baton. He loves Little Einsteins and thinks he is pretty hot stuff having his own baton like Leo.

Kiefer is already holding a bat correctly. Is he going to be our baseball player?

My 30th Birthday

I turned 30 last Friday and had a wild and crazy day (to say the least!) When I woke up Lee handed me a present. It was a beautiful silver necklace with three diamonds on it. Each diamond represents a decade that I have been alive. My sister, Ali, says that when you put it that way it doesn't sound so old :) I got the boys ready and we met my Mom and Ali at Flanigan's for a birthday lunch. We had a fun time chatting and my mom gave me some really pretty jewelry.

In the afternoon 2 dozen multicolored roses were delivered to me from my friend, Sarah Nodine, who lives in St. Louis. She is 5 weeks older than me and we have known each other since birth and grew up together. Both of us turn 30 this year :)
Lee and I went to dinner at Tokaoka with our good friends, Neal and Melanie Blythe. We headed over to Club Soda after dinner.

All day long I received phone calls from friends and family wishing me a happy 30th birthday. So nice of everyone to think of me!
I am looking forward to what my 30's have in store.

Happy 3rd Birthday Krue!

After much anticipation, Krue turned 3 on March 1st. Luckily Lee had the day off so we all had such a fun day with Krue.

We woke Krue up in the morning and exclaimed, "Happy Birthday!" He responded, "My birthday came?" We answered, "Yes, it is finally here!" He asked, "Where are my chocolate cupcakes?"

We let Krue open presents from us...new basketball shoes and a digital camera! At lunch we let him decide our meal...cheeseburgers and french fries! For dessert we sang happy birthday to him, let him blow out the candles, and we ate cake. Some really cool balloons were delivered in the afternoon from Lauren and Graham Blythe. Krue was so excited to see them when he woke up from his nap! All day long he recieved calls from family wishing him a happy birthday. Krue's babysitter, Erin, made him the special sign up above. Such a fun day.

We can't believe our Kruser is 3!
