On Saturday evening, Lee and I attended Habanera's "Spring Soire". We were supposed to wear something spring related ... i.e. Golf or tennis outfit. Not too many people dressed the part, but I do give props to Neal for wearing a golf outfit. Mel, Amy, and I wore sundresses (Amy even put a bathing suit on under her sundress to fit the theme ... and Lee and Heath wore linen shirts. All of this, with a temperature in the 30's outside! The things we do for Habanera :)

For the Love of Golf
The boys have really been enjoying golf this spring. They practice all of the time in our yard. Kiefer got his very own golf clubs a couple of weeks ago because Krue golfs left-handed and Kiefer needed right-handed clubs. He thinks he is pretty hot stuff and is doing really good for 2 years old! Kiefer is very resourceful about golf... if he can't find his golf clubs, he will use a bat, stick, or broom to hit a ball off of the tee. If he can't find a golf ball, he will use a baseball, small basketball, or rock to hit off of the tee. Anything will do! He constantly has something in his hands to swing, shoot, or roll. Our neighbors, Rick and Jean, get a big kick out of watching him from their sun room.
Krue still has that fantastic golf swing. I think he is ready to play 9 holes this summer. He can hit it all the way into the Blythe's backyard! We might have to switch to wiffle golf balls to avoid broken windows (What do you think, Mel?)
Here are some pictures Lee captured the other night.
Lee liked this picture because it not only shows Krue's follow through, but it also shows Kiefer in a perfect golf stance. He is so good about waiting patiently for his turn and making sure he is away from the swinging club.
A Tea Party for Amy
It's officially the start of "Wedding Season". We kicked it off with a shower for my lovely sister, Amy.
On Sunday, March 30th we threw a family shower for Amy at Mamaw's house. It was an "Afternoon Tea Party" Theme and everyone was told to wear a fun hat. We gave a prize for the best hat and Amy chose the winner. We had a good turnout of around 40 people. Mom and Mamaw went above and beyond in the decorations, favors, and food department. The tables were BEAUTIFUL!
Amy with some of her bridesmaids. It was so much fun seeing everyone show up in hats!
Mother-of-the-Bride, Debbie, and Bride-to-Be, Amy, looking fabulous.
Natalia, Mamaw, and I pose for a picture in our hats.
Amy (with radiant smile) opening one of her many gifts... as Ali and I keep the presents coming.
Mamaw had millions of teas to chose from.
We had baskets of hats for those who forgot to wear one. Amy had fun picking out a hat for people arriving at the front door.
One of the 5 tables Mom and Mamaw decorated for the tea party. Wow!
We had so much fun! You are going to make such a beautiful bride, Amy. I couldn't be happier for you and Chris... XOXO
Auggie the Doggie
Abby and Dan just got a new puppy! He is the cutest little thing and his name is:
August the 2nd
(Their Wedding Date... how clever... "Auggie" for Short)
Abby brought up Auggie for the boys to play with one day over her spring break. They just LOVED him! Auggie really liked giving Krue kisses and he would laugh and laugh. I didn't get any pictures of Kiefer with Auggie... but he loved running from "Auggie the Doggie" (as Kiefer calls him) and having Auggie chase after him. The boys also liked trying to find him around the house, like it was a game of hide and seek.
Thanks, Abby, for bringing him up to play. We think your new little guy is adorable!

Easter 2008
Krue and Kiefer checking out their Easter baskets.
My Boys... all dressed up for church. A couple of handsome dudes, if i do say so myself :)
Elkins/Bell Easter
After church we headed to Ossian for the Elkins/Bell Easter at Mamaw's house. We had a wonderful lunch, took naps, and had a fun Easter Egg hunt. Uncle David organized a little kids hunt first for Krue and Kiefer, then we had a big kid hunt which was very competitive (as always). Ali was the lucky winner who beat me by one piece of candy... I'm determined to win next year!
This is as close as we get to a family picture all dressed up!
Family Picture, minus Mom.

Nagel Easter
At 5 o'clock on Easter day, the Nagel Family met at Eric and Ali's house for a nice dinner and socializing. The boys had a blast because there were lots of cousins to play with and a basketball goal! It was good to see everyone... we are jealous because most of them are getting ready to go on a Florida spring break together. How fun!
A picture of all 5 of Sam's sisters. They were catching up with each other and I captured the shot.
