Cowboy Birthday Party ~ YEE HAW!

On March 1st (Krue's actual birthday) we had a birthday party for Kiefer's 2nd and Krue's 4th birthdays. It was cowboy themed... and I had so much fun with it! I put signs at the front and back doors that read "Come on in for a rootin' tootin' good time!"... labeled the bathroom as the "Outhouse"... the food as the "Grub"... and the old fashion root beer bottles & water bottles in a tin as "The Watering Hole". The boys dressed up in cowboy hats, bandannas, and cowboy boots. I made "Wanted" posters and hung them all over the house for everyone to look at. I had the guests snack on peanuts in the shell "Rodeo Munchies"... and we had food that went along with the cowboy theme... barbecued pulled pork, baked beans (thanks Mamaw), summer sausage & cheese (thanks Sam & Beth), yummy overnight salad (thanks Mom), and veggies.

We had family over at 4pm for dinner & presents, and then invited some Auburn friends (Neal & Mel, Shane & Kelli, Jeff & Rachelle) and their kids (Lauren & Graham, Ian & Anna, Livia & Reece) over for cake & ice cream. We had cowboy hats for the kids and the ice cream was served in plastic cowboy boots!

At one point we had 10 kids under the age of Five in our living room! We wouldn't have done it any other way :)

What a Crack-up!

This is how I find Kiefer ALL of the time! Wearing someone else's shoes, half naked, wearing hats, sunglasses, bracelets, you name it. He is such a crack up!

And yes, Kelli, he has started trying on my high heels :)

Kickin' Dad's Butt... One Wii Game At a Time!

I had to post an entry on this because I think it is hilarious. Lee purchased a Wii for the boys a couple of months ago because he thought it was a good way for them to play video games and be active at the same time. (Actually, I think this was an excuse to by himself a Wii.) Little did he know that ol' Kruser would kick his butt every time! Krue has quite a knack for playing these games... especially bowling and golf. He legitimately beats people and has had a highest scoring game of 224 in bowling! These games aren't that easy either, trust me. Krue has the finesse thing all figured out.

My First Bradley Class!

I just had to share that I taught my very first Bradley Natural Childbirth class. It went awesome and I LOVE the couples in my class. I was on a natural high all night! I am happy to be teaching again... I think I missed it... and it is so much fun teaching about this topic!!

Dan and Abby's Surprise Engagement Party

We surprised Dan and Abby a couple of weekends ago with an engagement party! We all met at Cebolla's and they showed up thinking they were meeting two or three couples for dinner. It turned out to be 36 people! I think they were very surprised.

Scrapbooking Fun!

A couple of Saturdays ago, Rachelle Lindblom invited a group of us over to her house to scrapbook for 6 hours! It was so much fun and I got a ton of stuff done. As I was getting ready to go to Rachelle's, Lee asked me, "how in the world are you going to be able to scrapbook that long?" I said, "Trust me, it will happen!" The time just flew by. Can't wait to do it again.

Valentine's Day ~ 2008

Okay... so it has been awhile since I have been able to post an entry on my blog. Our computer has been getting fixed and I have been very busy. Here is the start of more frequent entries!

Our valentine's day was very nice this year. Lee brought me home a dozen beautiful roses the night before v-day (impressive) with a card... what he wrote in the card was sweeter than honey! On valentine's day we went to dinner and a movie together. It is so nice to have those alone times together with no kids. Our babysitter, Erin, helped the boys make cute valentine's day cards for us. It was so fun to come home to.

We have discovered that Krue has a crush on Minnie Mouse. It is the cutest thing! We made a valentine together and I asked him who his special person was that he wanted to give it to... he told me Minnie Mouse. He asks me all the time if Minnie would like the color of his shirt, if Minnie would be scared if he stomped around and acted like a dinosaur, or if Minnie thinks he is handsome :) It is cracking us up! He says he thinks Minnie is "Pretty" and she "likes the color pink, like Lauren".

Girls Weekend Getaway ~ Chicago 2008

Last weekend my sisters, soon-to-be sister-in-law, mom, grandma, and I went to Chicago! We did this in celebration of Amy's birthday (Feb. 2nd), my mom's birthday (Feb. 15th), and my birthday (March 2nd). It was soooo much fun! The pictures tell the story of everything we did...

Friday night we got into our hotel (The Historical Palmer Hilton) late, so Mamaw and my mom went to bed. Ali, Amy, Natalia, and I went down to the main floor and enjoyed some wine. Believe it or not, we drank a wine called "Four Sisters". It was perfect and we had some special bonding time with Natalia. She asked us to be bridesmaides in their wedding. How cool!

Saturday morning we woke up and had a birthday party in my mom and Mamaw's hotel room. They had our breakfast delivered to their room and we ate and opened birthday presents. It was great!

Around noon we drove to a suburb of Chicago to visit some of Natalia's relation... her cousins Dave, Julie, and Estelle. They were wonderful hosts and made us a fabulous authentic Indonesian meal for lunch. We had a great time! (Estelle is the number one gymnast for her age group (13 years) in the state of Illinois! She also plays piano and violin. We were impressed.)

Later on Saturday we drove to my uncle David's new apartment in Chicago. My brother Adam was staying with him all weekend while Natalia had her "girls" weekend with us. We got a tour of David's apartment and then walked down to an Italian restaurant for dinner. It was snowing and so pretty outside. I didn't get any pictures of this :(

Once back at our hotel that night, my mom and Mamaw went to bed, and the rest of us girls got ready to go out. We first stopped by the famous "Empire Room" in our hotel. This was a room that celebrities use to perform in and it was broadcasted by radio all over the country. We took a couple of shots on the stage in this room...

We attempted to find a fun place to go hangout... but it was FREEZING outside and we never found a suitable spot to go. We ended up back at our hotel... on the main floor once again... for a cocktail. We thought our variety of drinks were pretty enough for a picture.

Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast in a little cafe on the corner. This is us before breakfast...

David and Adam met us for breakfast as well. After we ate, Adam asked David to be his best man at their wedding. David was very touched. Here is a picture of the two yahoos... they were cracking up because a wedding song came on in the hotel lobby as I was taking this picture. We jokingly said, "let's get a picture of the happy couple".

After breakfast we walked to some stores and went shopping... and finally headed to the much anticipated broadway musical, "Wicked". What a show it was! If you haven't seen it, you must. It is so cute. Here we are, after the musical, freezing to death trying to get a picture in order to document the moment.

Thank you, my girls, for this wonderful birthday weekend. It will go down in history as one of the best birthdays ever! I love you all.
